4.1.20 – National Poetry Month

The beginning of National Poetry Month
Comes when spirits turn to naught.
Constant COVID morbid news
Has gripped our hearts and thoughts.
We cannot hug. We cannot kiss.
We are confined inside
Our little rooms that are our world,
But not inside our minds.
It’s there we fair a chance of escape
From this torturous disease.
But do not fear foes in your flight.
This I beg you please!
Take this time to write what’s in your heart
And in your home.
Take this National Poetry Month
To escape your house and write a poem!
