The Sun cast its last shadow on the Day. It was then that the Moon laid siege on the Kingdom— Determined to claim rule over Earth. I felt the dark air reach for my neck In attempt To claim its first victim of the Long Night. No luck. I struggled and struck the hand that stuck through the crisp night curtain. The running only ceased for me Once I came across a castle freed From all the monsters, ghouls, and other belles of the Long Night. The fortified foundation Made it right for occupation And to secure my long salvation. The Moon hung high overhead, Casting shadows for giants to impregnate. I wait For the Sun to return, To burn away these memories That keep me trapped here in this tower.
